As Managing Director, Alfa Laval, India, Ltd. (ALIL), he conceptualized and led an Operational Turnaround resulting in a world-class showcase organization.

Within two years after his taking over as M.D., ALIL made a turnaround from a INR 300 million loss during the year 1996-97 and began to notch up record profits year after year building up to his last year as CEO, 2004, when the net profit zoomed to Rs.785 million post tax with a return on sales of 15.5%. This is the highest return posted by any company in the engineering industry in India till date.

In addition, as M.D., Mr. Tandon recorded stupendous increases in revenue, almost quadrupling the company, taking it from INR 1.5Bn when he took over in 1996-7 to INR 5.27 Bn in 2004 when he retired.

Accomplished Amateur Golfer: Winning in the last year at Delhi Golf Club, her home club, the Naval Kishore Cup, the DCWA Salver, the Oishi Cup, the Jogi Rai Trophy, the Lilly Khanna Rose Bowl, the February, July and September Monthly Medals and runners-up in the Fukumoto Cup.
